LEAVING MY HEART IN THE UK

Happy Pday my loves! Y'all this is so weird... this is my last weekly email. I am flying home on Thursday! This last transfer has been absolutely amazing and I am so thankful for it! We had a good week here in Newport too! Tuesday: SISTER SHAWARMA - I had my last exchange this week with Sister Shehab! Man, I just love her! We had a party and a half over here in Newport and started making our plans for our future investments... President and Sister Gallacher want us to open a SHAWARMA FOOD TRUCK together! Honestly, it sounds like an awesome idea, so don't be surprised if I have a food truck called SISTER SHAWARMA soon haha! - We found some great people on this exchange and one of them is Johntall! We were street contacting and we stopped and shared a message about Jesus Christ with him. We then asked if he had heard of the Book of Mormon before and he said, "Oh yeah! My daughter and I have one, it is another testament of Jesus Christ! It helps us know more about Jesus Christ and God's plan for us! It is the word of God!" My jaw DROPPED. For a second I thought it was a member trying to prank us or something, but nope! We then asked Johntall if would like to meet to study it with us and he said, "Of course!" So we will be meeting with Johntall and his daughter this week! Let's go! Thursday: CHEEKY - Had my last district council! I am really grateful for this district! They are a party! I have been able to learn so much from them and have had so many laughs! - Street contacting was very interesting this day... it was like all the crazy people decided to come to the city centre at the same time... • We were talking to some people and then we saw the cutest puppy ever! We asked this guy if we could pet his dog and we talked to him for a bit. We then went to shake his hand to say goodbye and thank you. He then took Sister Abellido's hand and KISSED it! Disgusting. • We walked past these old guys, smiled and said hi. One of them turned around and said to me, "Wow! You are beautiful! What a beautiful face! Are you single?" Bruv. You are like 75. So I told him... no... (it's ok to lie sometimes right?) He then said, "Oh what pity. Well a pity for me, not for you." Sunday: WHEN YOU COME HOME AGAIN TO WALES ‐ My last Sunday as a missionary was a wonderful one! The members are so sweet! They asked me to give a farewell talk and then they sang me the most beautiful song! In Wales they have a tradition to sing a song when someone moves away and they sang it to me! I wish I had it recorded! Definitely cried at church today haha! - We had people come to church too! Our friend Vanessa came to church for the first time and loved it! We also had a referral named Andre come to church! He brought his whole family! They just moved to the UK last week! His kids are the cutest thing ever! Our friend Olu was also there! It was an amazing last Sunday! So grateful for the Newport ward! There are not enough words that can describe my love for my Heavenly Father, Savior Jesus Christ, the missionaries, members, and the people here in the UK! I cannot believe that this mission is coming to an end for me. Serving a mission has always been my dream for as long as I can remember, so I have been pretty sad that I will be leaving. I have found out what my real dream has been all along! My dream was to become what my Heavenly Father wants me to be, be a dedicated disciple of Jesus Christ, and help people feel loved. That is still a dream that I am living in and this mission is only part of it! A scripture that I feel like describes my situation is found in Acts 23:11- "And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome." What I love about it is that Christ says to be of good cheer because Paul testified of Him, not because people were converted. Christ does not weigh our success on how many people join the church, but on our efforts to help people come unto Christ! So now I read this scripture as, "And the night following the Lord stood by [me], and said, Be of good cheer, [Sister Hope]: for as thou hast testified of me in [the UK], so must thou bear witness also [in Idaho]." I love my Savior and I know that He loves me! And never forget that Jesus loves you all too! The UK will always have my heart!
