4 SEASONS IN 1- COMBO MEAL
Spring is here!!! We were finally able to put the winter coats away haha! This week was good with every possible weather condition, sometimes all in one day haha!
Tuesday: JESUS LOVES ME, YES I KNOW
- In the Newport city centre there are a lot of street preachers and singers. One of our favorite groups sings the cutest Christian songs and it makes our day! This time we were walking past them and waved as always. Then one of them handed me a mic and asked me to sing with them haha! So I thought... why not! We sang a song and I had no idea what it was... but I went with it anyways! The song went a bit like this: "Jesus loves me, yes I know. For the bible tells us so..." It was a party and a half experience!
Wednesday-Thursday: PLANT PARENTS
- I have met one of my favorite people ever here in Newport! Can't believe I haven't mentioned her in my past few emails! Her name is Seren and she recently joined the church! She is one of the greatest examples to me and is such a great friend! We get to spend time with her on pdays and having the after baptism lessons! Love her!
- We went to a relief society activity with Seren and we learned how to plant flowers. So now we are proud plan parents to: Alvin, Simon, and Theodore.
Saturday: LIVING IN A MOVIE
- Sometimes I just feel like I am living in a movie for 3 reasons:
1. The tender mercies and miracles I have witnessed feel unreal!
2. The UK is absolutely gorgeous!
3. I can't believe how many crazy people there actually are... on Saturday we saw 3 people arrested before 11am, saw a lady taking her pet snake out for a walk, and saw people wearing some interesting fashion choices (or the lack of clothing) because it was a hot day...
- A tender mercy we had on this hot day was a kind lady doing a simple act of kindness! We had been out finding all day and ran out of water, but then we knocked on this one door. A lady answered and said, "Oh! I know you two! I met you this week in town! I love what you are doing!" She then let us pet her dog (an absolutely massive German Shepherd named Bear) and she gave us some cold bottles of water! Seriously a life saver! "It's a little thing that I can do for you and Jesus!" I am just so grateful for her example to me of doing the simple things! The simple things make the biggest difference!
Sunday: MOTHER NATURE TRIED TO KILL US
- It was a beautiful sunny Sunday and we were out tracting. Then it started sprinkling and a little bit of thunder. That was followed by the biggest hail/thunderstorms I have ever witnessed! It was insane! We could not see and all of the cars alarms were going off because of how big the hail was! There was nowhere for us to get some shelter from the storm, so we got completely drenched! It felt like I went swimming! Then of course after walking back to our flat... the sun started to shine. I guess that's Wales for ya!
- We did find someone who is interested while tracting in the storm haha! Rain brings blessings and I guess storms bring bigger ones!
My challenge to you all is to do a simple act of kindness this week!
"Kindness is the essence of greatness and the fundamental characteristic of the noblest men and women I have known. Kindness is a passport that opens doors and fashions friends. It softens hearts and molds relationships that can last lifetimes."
-Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin
Love y'all and Jesus loves you too!
