GOD BLESS US, EVERYONE!🎄❤️🫶
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! Or as they say here, "Happy Christmas!" Hope you all know how much I love and appreciate all of you! So thankful for the support and love this past year! Oh yeah... I'VE BEEN A MISSIONARY FOR A YEAR NOW! Best year of my life!
This week was amazing! Tried some crazy new things... cause why not!
Tuesday: ENGLAND'S STRANGEST CAROLERS
- Since I will not be a missionary next Christmas, I wanted to spice things up. Really pushed myself out of my comfort zone! As Sister Gallacher says, "There is no growth in the comfort zone!" So Sister Weight and I tried Carol Tracting! Got some of the strangest looks and excuses haha!
"Um, I have a headache."
"I'm not ready for Christmas." (Has a tree in his living room)
"My dog doesn't like singing. It will upset him." (Then comes the happiest dog ever)
Oh well! At least now I can say that I tried it! 2 people said yes to a song so they get extra Christmas blessings haha!
Thursday: BRINGING CHRISTMAS TO THE OLDER FOLK
- After district council we had a really cute Christmas service opportunity! My district and I got to sing Christmas Carols to the people in the Old Folks Home! I brought my uke and it was so much fun! It just made my heart melt to see the joy on these people's faces! They were all so grateful and shared with us how much it meant to them that we came and visited! For sure the older folks need a bit of Christmas cheer!
Saturday: WIFI FINDING
- So I tried pushing myself again out of my comfort zone and we went singing in the streets! Yep! Sister Weight and I went to our city centre and sang Christmas songs with the uke! Not sure if those around us enjoyed it... but I had fun haha!
- Since we were in town, we went to pick up our new wifi thing because ours is broken. One of the workers started talking to us, noticed our accents, and we started talking about the gospel! He said that he has been thinking about coming back to church! We gave him our contact and we are praying that he will reach out! Let's go!
- Sister Weight and I were walking through the Christmas Market and saw the cutest Christmas card! It had a fluffy cow with a Santa hat! We asked the guy running the booth how much it was and he said, "For you... Merry Christmas!" And gave them to us for free! How sweet is that! He also gets extra Christmas blessings!
Sunday: CHRISTMAS MIRACLES
- Really cool thing happened! Our new friend Joel came to church! He has such a cool story! He was on holiday in California and ran into missionaries at a restaurant. He started talking to them and became interested in learning more! He came back and looked up our church and somehow found our Bishop's contact! Our Bishop got him into contact with us and then he came to church! Joel loved the Christmas service and asked for a Book of Mormon! He said that he is definitely coming back!
- Also I just love, love, love this ward! I have never felt so loved! So many members gave us Christmas gifts! I was so surprised that so many people thought of us! So grateful that we are so a part of this ward family!
Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you all remember why this season is so wonderful, full of love and light, and so happy! It is because our Savior Jesus Christ came here for each of us!
Love and miss you all! And Jesus loves you too!
