SOME GRATITUDE SERVED WITH A BACON WRAPPED TURKEY

Happy late Thanksgiving everyone! I'm so thankful for this amazing week that I had with my amazing companion! I am still in awe of how amazing being a missionary can be! Monday: UGLY CHRISTMAS JUMPERS - For pday the whole district got ugly Christmas jumpers! (Aka Sweaters) It was honestly so much fun and definitely boosted my Christmas spirit to another level haha! I am so thankful for my amazing district! They are a party and a half! We picked out jumpers for each other and the one they picked for me... is definitely interesting haha! Santa in a race car for the win! Tuesday pt. 1: BUS PASS CHASE - Funny story of the week... kinda. We have this app to get bus passes and of course it decides not to work when we need it to. So we set off our trek to the bus office to get the bus pass we need... and we ended up at the old bus warehouse in the middle of nowhere! Very dodgy. This is why I have trust issues with Google maps. Then we found the real office and headed over. We get there and we ask to buy the bus pass and all they have to say is, "Yeah sorry we can't help you. You can only buy that one on the app." Bruv. Basically spent 1 1/2 hours trying to fund this place! Oh well! It was a fun adventure haha! Tuesday pt. 2: SUNDAY ROAST DINNER VS THANKSGIVING DINNER - Idk how to explain how much I absolutely love the members of this ward! The Garlicks took us out for lunch to the TOBY! The Toby Carvery is so dang good! It serves the traditional English roast dinner. Your choice of meat: Turkey, Gamon, Pork, and Roast Beef! All the sides: Mashed potatoes, roasted potatoes, potato leek thing, yorkshire pudding, peas, carrots, stuffing, brussel sprouts (don't worry dad, I didn't get those), cauliflower cheese, and Mac and Cheese! And it's all COVERED in gravy. That is what the English usually have every Sunday for dinner. Count me in! It was so fun comparing it to Thanksgiving dinner with the members! I love the Garlicks so much! They are the funniest Welsh people I know! Thursday: 2 THANKSGIVINGS IN 1 - Since 4/6 of us are American in my district, we decided to have a Thanksgiving potluck! Man! It was so good! And it was hilarious seeing the Elders' faces when we put the fruit salad on the same plate as our mashed potatoes... Again I am so thankful for this district! - The Mulligan family had us over for Thanksgiving and they made some of the classics for us! Even said what we are thankful for around the table haha! Seriously melted my heart! They made the American stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes with marshmallows, green bean casserole, and BACON WRAPPED TURKEY. I am 100% serious when I say that I absolutely love this family and I am so thankful for them! And the kids definitely made fun of how we Americans speak and what we eat haha! They just ask us to say a bunch of random words and they burst out laughing! Love them! Friday: MY GRANDMA FROM JAMAICA - You want to meet the sweetest lady with the biggest heart? That would be Yvonne! She is the cutest grandma from Jamaica and she has only been a member for 18 months! She is always so excited to see us and go to Brother Taylor's with us! Yvonne always looks for ways to serve! On Friday she just about made me cry! She took us out to lunch, bought Sister Weight and I dresses, and bought us groceries! And all she says is, "Well of course I want to do it! That is what I'm supposed to do! That is how I serve Him!" (In a cute Jamaican accent) I am so thankful for her service minded example and her love for the missionaries! Looking at this week I could feel disappointed that we did not find as many people to teach as we usually do, but all I can feel is gratitude! Especially for the members in this ward and my companion!(Maybe I'm getting a little attached... idk if y'all can tell...) So my invitation to y'all is to say a prayer of gratitude. Just straight up gratitude! And I can promise that you will be able to notice the little blessings that God is putting in your life! Love y'all! So thankful for your love and support! And remember that Jesus loves you too!
