KING GEORGE

OK. I am just trying to be the best missionary and the best trainer that I can be... but that does not always go to plan... I have come to learn that is totally ok! God's daily planning is WAY better than mine haha! This week did not go how we planned it... at all. So let's get into it! Wednesday: BLESSED BUS - Sister Weight and I were asked to go visit this sweet member in our ward and so of course we had to catch the bus. Let me tell ya. The Cheltenham busses are ALWAYS late or just don't show up. Today was one of those days where 2 busses in a row did not show up. A bus finally came and we got on, said hi the the bus driver, and went on our way to this member's home. When it was time for us to get off, the bus driver stopped me and asked, "Are you the missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ?" And I was just in shock! He didn't call me a Mormon! Green flag! I then replied, "Yes!" He had the biggest smile on his face and said, "Can I get your contact? I want to learn more about your church! But I'm on duty, so do you have a card? Oh and my name is George!" Of course I then gave him our number! I seriously could not believe what had happened! - The next day George actually messaged us and asked when we could meet! It is so crazy to see how much God is involved in all of our lives! To the very detail! If those other 2 busses had shown up, we would have never met George! So we may not be teaching the King George of England, but I think this George is pretty dang amazing! Friday: ALWAYS BE PREPARED TO TESTIFY - Randomly our friends this week have been texting us to see if they could have a lesson right then and there over video call. So Sister Weight and I have become experts on really relying on the spirit and always being prepared to testify! - One of these times was with our friend Esther! She wanted to learn more about the Book of Mormon and read it with us! Her desire to learn more is to admirable and beautiful! The lesson went so well and she even invited herself to church! - We made a new friend named Godwin! I met him a couple of weeks ago street contacting and we gave him a card with our phone number. He called us that night because he looked at the church website and wanted to learn more! We had such a good lesson with him and now he wants a Book of Mormon too! This lesson was a time that I truly felt the Holy Ghost testify through me. I did not expect to say what i said in the lesson, but I knew it was true and what Godwin needed! He was so engaged in the lesson and wants to meet with us more! Let's go!!! Saturday: LOVELY JUBBLY - Every week we get to go do service for the cutest old man that you will ever meet! Brother Taylor is a legend and loves the missionaries! And the missionaries love him! He says the cutest things! Like: •Lovely Jubbly! •Oh dear me! •Oh Sister that's wonderful! •Listen to that prophet! Think CELESTIAL! •Come along! •Can you believe it! •They don't need the meat! They need milk! - When I first got to Cheltenham I mentioned briefly that my mom likes to collect old cameras. Last week Brother Taylor and his daughter called us and asked me if I would like his old cameras! Can you get any sweeter than that? Love him so much! Sunday: BESTIES WITH A 70 - This week in Cheltenham was Stake Conference! I was so excited because I would be able to see everyone from Swindon again! And go to church with all the missionaries in our zone! President and Sister Gallacher came and spoke too! It was so fun! Such powerful messages and just another reminder that God knows what we need to hear! - An area 70 was there! His name is Elder Betteridge and he is so cool and was so in tune with the spirit! Not going to lie, the first time I met him I had no idea who he was... I just thought that he was a member in the stake... so we chatted for a while about missionary work and then I soon realized that he was the visiting 70! He was so kind and so excited about the work that was going on in the Cheltenham stake! I just hope that I didn't say anything embarrassing... - 30 minutes before the conference started, Sister Weight and I were asked to sing in some of the musical numbers... yeah I was pretty shocked! Thank goodness we were singing in a group! Everything worked out and it was so much fun! - Best part! Esther came to church with her husband! She really loved it and was so excited to see us! Next week she said that she wants to bring all of her kids! Let's go! - We also had a lesson with our King George over the phone! He wants to read the Book of Mormon too! Sadly he actually lives in Gloucester... so we eventually have to give him to the Elders... dang it! But it's ok! We are excited that he wants to learn! To say the least: THIS WEEK WAS AWESOME! I know that God has a way better plan than we do! We just need to trust in it and in Him! Love y'all and Jesus loves you too!
