ALMOST DIED... BUT HEY! IKEA!
I don't really know what is going on or where the time went... but here is the week in review:
Tuesday: NO MORE AN ATHEIST
- There is a lady in our ward named Jane and we go over sometimes to do some service for her! Jane is in a wheelchair and is slowly losing the ability to move and speak. She is the sweetest and funniest lady ever! This week we sorted pens for her! A very simple but important task to her! It was so fun getting to know her!
- We have a new friend named Nurik! He is seriously so cool! We met him street contacting in Gloucester before district council and asked him if he would like to learn more about Jesus Christ. He said yes! We exchanged numbers and he messaged us that night about how excited he was and how he started watching movies about Christ! Nurik just moved here from Kyrgyzstan and is still learning English! Sister Weight and I had our first lesson with him about Prayer! Nurik actually asked us to teach him how to pray and he loved it! He is excited to learn more! Nurik then sent us the sweetest message after our lesson! "I am very grateful to you for what you tell me and show me how to pray, my dad also says all the time, pray, pray, you are like an atheist of steel, but I believe God again, thank you for talking and showing me." I wanted to cry! The only bummer is that he lives in Gloucester so we have to pass him off to the Elders. Dang it.
Wednesday: THIS PLAN IS TOO GOOD
- Sister Weight and I were finally able to teach our friend Rehana again! She is about the cutest thing and loved the lesson! She was so excited to learn about what happens after we die!
Friday: ZONE CONFERENCE
- Sister Weight had her first ZC! We got to drive down to Bristol with a new senior couple! On the way there we saw a double rainbow! That was a first for me and it was awesome!!!
- The ZC theme was the Restoration and teaching with the Holy Ghost! It was so so good and I could feel the spirit so strongly just testifying to me that it was all true! I love meeting with other missionaries and hearing their experiences and their testimonies! Plus seeing my mission grandparents is always my favorite thing ever!
- Ok. Now onto the almost dying part of my week. You know how we drove with a senior couple to and from ZC? Most terrifying experience on my mission. It was very dark and this sweet couple is... very... old. At one point I realized that Sister Weight and I were holding hands praying that we wouldn't die! Here is a list of things that we almost hit:
• Bikers
• Bus
• Car (we were driving on the wrong side of the road)
• Barrier (turned into the wrong entrance)
• Another car (roundabout)
• Curb
• Car again (parking garage)
• pedestrians crossing the street
• Almost backed into another car
So who needs to go skydiving to feel like you are living on the edge? You can just go driving in England at night with a senior couple!
- All is forgiven because they are so sweet and took us to IKEA! I have never been to Ikea before and it was a party! Those meatballs... worth it!
Sunday: SOUP AND SHIRIS
- Fun fact: the English love their soup. A LOT. This Sunday we had a cute munch and mingle with soup! THERE WAS SO MUCH SOUP! Like 8 crock pots full! There were only 30 people at church this Sunday haha! The soups were honestly so good! Had like 4 bowls...
- Sister Weight and I got to teach the Shiri's again! (Cute family we found last week) We taught the Restoration and it was so good! They want us to keep coming back! Let's go!
So yeah that was the week! Even though 90% of our lessons fell through, it was pretty good! Also the CHRISTMAS MARKET is up and running in the Cheltenham city centre! It is so cute!
Love y'all and Jesus loves you too!
