WHAT A BLESSED LAND

Hello everyone! We are still surviving in Swindon! It has definitely been an adventure figuring out Swindon haha! Tuesday: GOD BLESS THE USA - After Sister Boamah and I had been knocking on doors for 2 1/2 hours in the chucking rain, and having no one be interested (and having someone yell at us to get off of their property or they would call the police)... I said a prayer that we would be able to talk to at least 1 person. We then knocked on Anna's door. Boy! God answers prayers! I honestly don't know what happened when we started talking to Anna, but I soon realized that I was testifying of the Book of Mormon. I didn't even realize it was me talking! Anna showed some interest and we exchanged numbers! We will be going to her house later this week! Hopefully it goes well! - Since it was my favorite holiday of all time I decided to make my companion and the Elders some real American food. I made them fried chicken with Chick-fil-A sauce, mashed potatoes, and corn on the cob. Also did I wear my American flag trousers? You know it! God bless the USA! Wednesday: SUSHI IN SWINDON - The legend of the Swindon ward, Elly Taylor, invited us over for lunch! It was so much fun! Elly is a total party! She taught us how to make sushi! I have never had sushi because I don't like fish... but this was honestly pretty good! Never thought I would have sushi in Swindon haha! - We had our first lesson here in Swindon! The Elders have this friend, Ini, and they thought it would be best that we taught her. Ini is so cool! She just moved to Swindon with her parents from Nigeria and ran into the Elders on the street. She loves God and wants to grow closer to Him! We all taught her about the Plan of Salvation! Ini loved it! I love it too! Thursday: FUNERAL FUN DAY - For some reason, I have attended the same amount of funerals before the mission and on the mission... Sister Boamah and I were at our chapel (because we have no wifi in our flat) sending some messages and doing some social media work. Some members and our bishop walked in and said, "Sisters, thank you so much for coming." I was mega confused. Bishop then came over to me and asked if I could help conduct the funeral... I panicked for sure, but thankfully he was only talking about the music haha! So I guess that's one way to get to know members! Just go to a funeral! -On Monday, Sister Boamah and I found our friend Jessica after knocking on some doors, but she couldn't speak then. We went back on Thursday and we were able to teach her! At first she was only interested in service opportunities provided by our church (which isn't bad at all) but then it ended up with us giving her a copy of the Book of Mormon! - We also went knocking on some doors in another place and I had a feeling that we should start at this one door. A girl opened it and we asked her if we could share a message. She said yes! Her name is Effie. We told her about the Book of Mormon and testified of its truth! Then she asked where she could get one! Of course we gave her a copy right then, and turns out that her friend is also reading the Book of Mormon! I hope we can start teaching them soon! Swindon is such a blessed land haha! Friday: FOOD TRUCK ADDICTION -We had our first district council of the transfer! Let me tell ya... my district is fire! - After DC we went to a... FOOD TRUCK! The best Mexican food I have ever had. SHEESH. It was so good and the truck was so cool! It was made out of a double decker bus!!! We got to eat at the top of the bus! So fire! Saturday: JEMIMA! - The Elders passed on one of their friends over to us to start teaching, Jemima! She is 20 and is from the Philippines! She is about the sweetest person ever! She just loves learning about Jesus Christ and His gospel! When Jemima lived in the Philippines, she always looked up to the missionaries that were there, so when she found the Elders she wanted to learn about our church! That's all for my crazy, awesome week! It's been a party! Love y'all and Jesus loves you too!
