NO EXCUSES! JUST BE HAPPY AND SEE THE GOOD!

Hello everyone! I guess summer is done over here and I've had to take the rain coat off the rack! Christmas in July? I think yes! It's been chucking rain, but it's a good thing I love the rain! Apologies for the long email... it was a fire week! Also sorry if my email title seemed a little aggressive... I promise it's not meant to be! Monday: HEY MICKY WHAT A FIND - Did I help with another funeral... yes... yes I did. -Sister Boamah and I went to an area to drop off a bible, but they were not home. So we went knocking on doors around. At the very last door we met our friend, Maya! We taught her about the Book of Mormon and she said that she was really interested to learn more! Woot woot! - Afterwards I had a feeling to call our mystery friend, Micky. After church the day before, we got a text saying, "Hi I attended the church today thanks for dropping the card off I feel a lot better for attending thanks micky" We gave him a call and he has such an inspiring story! Micky has been praying for help and guidance for a while because his daughter has been in the hospital for a long time. After visiting his daughter in the hospital, he came home to one of our pass-a-long cards (cards we leave at the house when they aren't home). It had our chapels address and service time. Micky said it felt like it was an answer to his prayers! So he decided to come to church! Sister Boamah and I still don't know who are the members in our ward and who is a visitor, so we had no idea who he was! (Very bad missionary moment not going to lie) Micky showed so much faith just by acting on that prompting and going to church even though he knew no one and nothing about our church! Tuesday: IM PREACHING IN THE RAIN - Sister Boamah and I went street contacting and it started chucking rain! It was like someone grabbed a bucket (or 5) full of water and dumped it right on us! The only problem was... I had left my rain jacket and umbrella in the car... so what did I do??? I made a goal to see how drenched I could get haha! People looked at me like I was crazy... and they are absolutely right! -To make things better for my poor, freezing companion (she is still adjusting to the weather) I started sing, "Singing in the Rain", but I made it more missionary friendly when we went tracting. So picture this: Absolutely wet rat looking Sister Hope knocking on doors and singing, "I'm tracting in the rain, just tracting in the rain! What a glorious feeling, I'm happy again!" *Knocks and gets rejected* "Just rejected in the rain, just rejected in the rain! What a .... feeling, I'm happy again!" - I have a very strong testimony that everything is just a mindset! If you want to be happy and have a good time, then choose to do that! Thursday: WHITEBOARDS & TENDER MERCIES - After district council we did a whiteboard activity in the City Centre! We asked people to write what they are grateful for! We all had really good conversations with people! It was so much fun! -I talked to one guy for 45 minutes about the gospel!!! It all started with him being grateful that he is still here. I asked him about it and we had a really good talk! He asked so many questions and was so open minded to all I said! - Another person I stopped was someone named Spencer! Spencer has autism and he was just about the sweetest person ever! (Got a little taste of home because I have a brother named Spencer who has down syndrome and autism!) I talked to Spencer and his sister and Spencer said, "I like you. You are a good person. You are my Church friend. You need a hug." Then he gave me a hug and went back to shopping! (Usually I would feel pretty uncomfortable with a random guy hugging me... but I'll let this one slide) - Sister Boamah and I made our first friend here in Swindon! His name is Able and he reached out to us online to learn more about God! He's so good! Let's go! Friday: MISSION GRANDPARENTS - We had zone conference this week! It was so so so good! We learned more about this fire new Preach My Gospel and about the scriptures! I am learning so much! We also talked about being a successful missionary. Something I got out of it is that when we are going through challenges, our expectations should never be replaced by excuses. (Mic Drop by the Holy Ghost) - We got to carpool to Cheltenham with Elder De Guzman and Elder Griffith and it was very much a party to and from ZC! (Did it feel a little apostate...yup. But you gotta do what the office Elders tell ya to do) Elder Griffith served in Cheltenham and he only wanted to do one thing when we were there. I have never seen someone so excited to do something. It was on our way back home and we stopped by his old flat and we walked down one path to a sign that said, "Butts Walk" That's Elders for ya. - The best part of the whole day was seeing the McDonalds and the Wallaces!!! Aka our mission grandparents! It seriously felt like I haven't seen them in forever! Both of them made us some food and treats to take home! I seriously love my mission grandparents so much! They even call us their granddaughters! Saturday: FAVORITE CHEERLEADERS - Sister Boamah and I got to volunteer at Park Run!!! We wear bright pink vests and tell people where to go! They even gave us a walkie-talkie! But just pointing where to go is too boring for my taste. So we decided to cheer everyone on with our whole might, mind, and strength. No joke I was screaming my lungs out for an hour. Everyone said that we were their favorite marshals ever! So in the end we gained the hearts of park run and lost our voices haha! - We made another friend named Rosemond! She sent in a request to learn more about the Church because she was looking into it back in Nigeria and then she moved to Swindon! She's pretty cool! - We had a DA with the legend Elly Taylor! This time she taught us how to sing "Give Said the Little Streem" in Scott's English! She also taught me how to play it on the Uke! It was so much fun! Sunday: WHAT A FIND YOU BLOW MY MIND! HEY MICKY! - Micky came to church again! And we actually got to meet him! He is so cool! He loves church! Right away, members of the ward were introduced themselves and helped Micky around the church and explaining everything about our church service! Micky fit right in and it was like he has been apart of the ward for years! Micky said that he feels like he belongs there and is planning on staying for both hours next week! Woot woot! - And yes. Every time we message, call, or even talk about Micky I sing the song: "Hey Micky!" - I also gave a talk today about studying the scriptures! In my talk I likened studying the scriptures to rugby! Yup! I would like to invite you all to read 1 Nephi 19:23 and try to "liken" the scriptures to your lives! Even though we have been tracting all week and the pouring rain and getting rejected over and over again... HAPPINESS IS A CHOICE! Everything we do is a mindset. I have decided to place my mindset on my Savior Jesus Christ! Because of that, I have been able to see all of these amazing miracles! Apologies again for the long email, but I hope y'all enjoyed it! Love ya and Jesus loves you too!
