Merry Christmas from HMTC!!!
Merry Christmas everyone! Hope everyone's Christmas season has been amazing! Can't believe that I am sending my first missionary email! I don't have much to say for my first email cause I'm still at home, but this week has been AWESOME!
To just be honest, I thought home MTC was going to be terrible. Personally, I am not a fan of online classes and zoom, and I can never learn from them. But boy was I wrong! I have learned so much this week! I absolutely love my district, my companion, and teachers! They are all going to the England MTC with me and I cannot wait to meet them! In my district there are 2 sets of sisters and 2 sets of elders. The sisters are from Washington, Las Vegas, and Zimbabwe. The elders are from Canada, Brazil, England, and Austria. They are all amazing and have such amazing spiritual insights! My companion is Sister Davis from Yakima, Washington. I LOVE HER. We clicked right away and she has made HMTC a really good experience. Sadly, she will not be my companion in the MTC because she has to take Russian classes. She will be reopening a mission in Ukraine, SO COOL!
There are no words that can explain how much I have felt the spirit this week and how much it has helped me. I have never been great at reading my scriptures every day, memorizing scriptures, or anything like that. But this week I have been able to read and connect to the scriptures like never before! It is so cool!
Favorite Things Taught This Week=
- We do not teach lessons, we teach people
- You cannot force spiritual things. The spirit converts, not me.
- No Pain No Gain-> No Affliction No Conviction
- God doesn't work by time, He works by love.
- Divine Nature= your God given character
- God/Christ loves us as much as we let them (we need to let Him in)
- The more open we are to receive Him, the more open we are to receive others.
- Adversity is mandatory, misery is optional
- Happiness is a choice.
- Christ's love is perfect. Christ's doctrine is perfect. Christ's grace is infinite.
Favorite Scripture of the Week= 1st John 4:7-9:
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
I leave on Tuesday, so next week I'll be writing to you from England! So crazy! Merry Christmas! Love you all so much! And Jesus loves you too!
<3 Sister Hope
