THE HUNGARIAN COMMUNITY: A COMMUNITY OF HUNGARIANS

Y'all this week was kinda crazy! To start it off we almost got emergency transferred... there may or may not have been a murder... right by our flat... But! It's all good cause they caught the guy and our fighting skills are pretty legit haha! Those boxing exercises and our new water guns really do come in handy! Friday: OUR FAVORITE OLD LADS - We made some best friends with some people this week! So we go street contacting everyday and everyday we pass by this little café. In this café there is a group of old people that are seriously there everyday! They started noticing us and that we pass by a couple of times a day and so they started looking forward to seeing us and waving to us! How cute! So on one of our rounds we went into the café to introduce ourselves! They think we are way too happy to be living in Newport haha! But now we are besties with these old guys (Colin, Captain, Russel, Liz, Ruth, Mike, Lennard, and Bimbo)! Everytime we talk to them they try to buy us water from the café, but we usually politely decline. But one time they just did it anyways haha! It made our day! Love them! Saturday: WELSH AND HUNGARIAN FRIENDSHIP DAY - The Elders and us got invited to a Welsh/Hungarian community event this week! We asked the Elders what the event was and they said, "A Hungarian community is a community of Hungarians." Thank you Elders for clearing that up for us... Anyways! There was this one guy who sang old folk songs all in Welsh! Then there was Hungarian dancing! We definitely thought that we would just be watching them dance... but then some old Hungarian ladies came and grabbed the Elders and pulled them into the dance haha! Sister Abellido and I were dying! We were laughing until we got pulled into the dance too! It was a party and a half of a day! I just love learning about and getting to know people from all over the world! So this week was just a bunch of great interactions with the community and forming those genuine friendships!
