Mission Farewell December 18th, 2022

 Mission Farewell

Finding happiness through the gospel and the restoration/resurrection

  • Announce Mission-

  • Bristol, England

  • Start HMTC Dec. 19- leave to England MTC De. 27

  • Why did I decide to serve a mission?

  • Jenna

  • Want others to feel Christ’s love for them

  • Help families become eternal

  • Help others find happiness

  • I know that my mission will be hard

  • Anything worth doing will be hard- Karl

  • Sharing the Message of the Restoration and the Resurrection

  • Goals as missionaries: Elder D. Todd Christofferson

  • Our aspiration is to reach every nation, kindred, tongue, and people is undiminished today- Elder D. Todd Christofferson

  • Ephesians 1:10- That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him

  • What is required to share the message- Elder D. Todd Christofferson

  • Love, Our Example, Use of the Book of Mormon

  • Add on Sacrifice and Happiness in the Gospel

  • Love

  • Our invitations cannot be a matter of self-interest; rather they must be an expression of selfless love.”

  • If the love of Christ dwells in us, others will know that our love for them is genuine.

  • Many of our invitations to share the message of the restoration will be declined. But remember this; everyone is worthy of such an invitation

  • Karl- they are not rejecting you; they are rejecting the message. It is nothing personal, and when they reject the message that means that they are not ready to hear it, yet.

  • Example

  • I personally learn best from example

  • Trenton/ other missionaries in my life

  • I need to be the example

  • Book of Mormon

  • Share testimony

  • Sacrifice

  • The greatest sacrifices can become the greatest blessings

  • Heavenly Father wants us to be happy.

  • Created the Plan of Happiness for a reason.

  • Gift of the Resurrection/Restoration

  • We will have trials- but God still loves us

  • Without knowing sadness, guilt, and going through trials, no one would know what true happiness, joy, and relief is.

  • And if there be no righteousness nor happiness there be no punishment nor misery. And if these things are not there is no God. And if there is no God we are not, neither the earth; for there could have been no creation of things, neither to act nor to be acted upon; wherefore, all things must have vanished away,” (2 Nephi 2:13).

  • Christ knows everyone perfectly.

  • He knows us at our lowest moments, but also in our greatest ones.

  • Jesus loves everyone unconditionally. That is why he paid for our sins and gave his life for us, so we can be happy.

  • The best way to find happiness is to live with and focus on J.O.Y. - mom

  • Jesus

  • life is centered around Jesus Christ

  • When living with Jesus as our center of our lives, we live more like him.

  • Others

  • Serving others will bring us joy

  • God wants us to share our happiness and his love by serving his children.

  • Yourself

  • You are also a child of God. It is good to put others before yourself, but do not ignore yourself and your needs.

  • Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father love us, and the knowledge of that is true happiness.
