Hypothetically If You Had 24 Rubber Ducks...

Happy PDay Ya'll! The sun has continued to shine over the island! Love you guys so much!

Tuesday-
-Sister Olander and I taught this amazing couple! Juliet and James! They moved to the island with their family about 2 years ago from Nigeria. We gave them a chapel tour, got to know them, and taught them the Restoration lesson! And guys! The spirit was so strong! When I was sharing my testimony about the Book of Mormon I started crying because the spirit was so overwhelming! Juliet and James were so excited and surprised when we told them that they could keep a copy of the Book of Mormon! It was so sweet! They want to meet up again and we are so excited!
-We went knocking on doors and we knocked on this one door and we met the coolest guy! He is a pastor for another church and he shared his life story with us. He used to be a drug addict and almost died because of it. Then he received a blessing when he was in the hospital and was completely fine! He hasn't been tempted to use drugs since and is now helping others get off drugs! Such a cool guy! We said a prayer together and talked about how merciful God is. It's so true!

Wednesday- Exchanges!
-I had my first exchange with our Sister Training Leaders(STLs) with Sister Mudrow (Utah) and Sister Duez (France)! They are both so amazing and so sweet! Exchanges are a little different for us cause we are on an island. It's just the 4 of us together unless we go tracting or something like that.
-We went to lunch at Sister Russell's house and she is the funniest British lady I have ever had the pleasure of meeting haha! She shared really cool stories of how she joined the church 40 years ago and then found that one of her ancestors joined the church and moved to the US at 70 years old! Her ancestor also knew Joseph Smith! So cool!
We had a lesson, but we got stood up. That was a total bummer!
-We had a lesson with our friend Les! Les is an older guy who says he's not interested in learning about religion, but then requests the missionaries and wants to talk about religion. He really loves to share stories so it was a little difficult to get a lesson in, but we did it! His wife recently passed away, so we taught him a little bit about the Plan of Salvation. The spirit was so strong and I got to share my testimony about how I know that our families can be together forever!
-Funny story: My companion tried to get kidnapped... So our STLs have a car. We were walking back to the car after an appointment and it was pretty dark outside. My companion stopped at this one car thinking it was our car. It was not our car. She opens the door and almost gets in... then this dude who is smoking weed with his buddy gets out of the car! I thought I was going to fight this dude!!! I would've too haha! Thank goodness I didn't have to. I guess the high guy knew better than to pick a fight with me. Don't worry we got home safely!!!
-Sister Olander just keeps getting better and better! After our day was over, she pulled out 24 little rubber ducks. Sister Olander, Sister Mudrow, Sister Duez, and I spent that night personality matching ducks to the missionaries in our district haha! It was a total party!

Thursday-
-Because the STLs have a car, we got to take a car ferry to district council! It was a party and a half! District council was so good as always and I learned so much! I am continuing my role in the district as the entertainment haha. Everyone was hyped about their assigned duck haha! Now everytime we ask a question it starts with, "Hypothetically if you had 24 rubber ducks..."
-When Sister Olander and I got back to the island, we both had a feeling to go street contacting instead of going home for dinner. Thank goodness we did because we got to meet our friend Sarah! At first she was not interested, but then started asking us questions about the church! It was a very good discussion and we had a lesson set up for Saturday! (Sadly we had to reschedule because she had a family emergency come up) Sister Olander and I were so so excited!!!

Friday-
-Sister Olander and I have been trying to find community service projects since I got here! We finally found something that would work for us! We volunteered at this charity shop called the Samaritan. It's like a DI, but most of the clothes go to the homeless shelter. We sorted and went through donated clothes and it was honestly so fun! One of the workers there, Shelly, loves to ask questions. She asked us so many funny questions and said so many funny things haha! (PLEASE read these in a British accent... it makes it 100x better!) "I'm going to learn how to speak American!... Georgia! I'm getting resurrected!... I'm going to make you guys famous!... Are you guys allowed to have boyfriends? I'm going to set you up when you are done with your mission. Wait! You'll be in America! Well, an excuse to come back!" Shelly was a party for sure!
-A drunk guy told me that I was gorgeous so that was a confidence boost haha!

Saturday-
-We marshaled at Park Run again! This time a lady fell and totally wrecked her knee. So Sister Olander and I had to be doctors for a minute haha!
-A little boy in the ward got baptized! Pablo Palomo! (Family from Spain) His mom asked me and Sister Olander to speak at his baptism! So cool! Really good Spanish food!
-Our friends Linda, Carrie, and Les called us and said they did not want to take the lessons anymore. This broke my heart. Linda and Carrie decided to go to a different church and Les wouldn't tell us why. We think it's because he was also meeting with the Jehovah Witnesses and will be joining their church. Even though I don't know them that well, I love them all so much!

Sunday-
-Our friend Gertrude has decided to officially start taking the missionary lessons! Sister Olander and I are so excited! I love Gertrude so much! She is golden!

Talk to ya'll next week! Love you guys so much and Jesus loves you too!
